77th NCC Day celebrated at Andhra University

The 77th NCC Raising Day celebrations titled ‘Visakha Tarang’ were held at the Andhra University Convention Center on Sunday.
Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G. P. Raja Sekhar, the chief guest, said that AU is currently celebrating its 100th anniversary and it is a privilage to organise the 77th NCC Day. He informed that AU is currently working to take forward infrastructure, outreach and academic excellence.
He announced that the AU Rural Connectivity Programme has been launced at Paderu to make higher education accessible to remote tribal students and encourage their interest in education. He shared that the AU has an NCC center and conducts many programs along with the NCC centres at the affiliated colleges. He said that students who join NCC learn to develop themselves in life and move forward in unity.
Vice Admiral Sushil Menon, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command, who participated as the guest of honour, lauded the significance of celebrating NCC day. He urged the youth to acquire new knowledge and uphold national unity for the development of the nation.
