Traffic regulation in Thiruvananthapuram for Navaratri procession
The Thiruvananthapuram City Police will enforce traffic regulations in connection with the Navaratri procession on Monday.
The procession carrying the Navaratri idols will reach at 11 a.m. from the city’s outskirts at Pallichal, and will resume from Nemom around noon to reach the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple by 8 p.m.
Traffic arrangements will be enforced on the roads within the city limits from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in view of the procession.
According to an official release, vehicle parking will be prohibited between Killipalam and Pallichal. During the procession, vehicles from Killipalam to Pallichal and from Pallichal to Karamana will be allowed to move in a single lane. Drivers have been advised to exercise caution and drive at reduced speeds.
Vehicles, including ambulances and other emergency vehicles, that come from Balaramapuram and Pallichal towards the city should avoid the Killipalam-Pallichal route. Instead, they must use the bypass road. Goods vehicles will not be allowed on this route.
