Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will next feature for India in the ODI series against New Zealand in January 2026.
Kohli and Rohit finished their set of international fixtures for the year 2025 as India completed its three-match ODI series against South Africa on Saturday.
Both Indian stalwarts looked in great touch throughout the series. While Kohli scored consecutive centuries in the first two ODIs, scoring 135 and 102. Rohit scored 57 in the first match, 14 in the second, and 75 in the series decider.
India will next play New Zealand in three-match ODI series starting January 11 in Vadodara, followed by matches in Rajkot and Indore.
Will Kohli and Rohit play in Vijay Hazare Trophy?
While the squads for their respective States — Delhi and Mumbai — aren’t out yet, the reports suggest that both Kohli and Rohit are likely to feature in the Vijay Hazare Trophy which starts later in December.
Since January this year, BCCI has instructed all its players to feature in domestic cricket in order to be eligible for international assignments, and earlier this year, Virat and Rohit both featured in a Ranji Trophy game for Delhi and Mumbai respectively.
Now, with both wanting to continue till the 2027 ODI World Cup, they need to feature in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on a regular basis. While Virat is confirmed to feature in the tournament, Rohit, too, is set to turn up for Mumbai, even though a formal word is awaited.
