GHMC readies app to penalise litterbugs and other violators
A special training programme was organised in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on the Comprehensive Challan Management System (CCMS) on Thursday, where the officers from the Sanitation, Solid Waste Management and Town Planning wings were offered training on using CCMS mobile app to penalise offenders.
Littering in major junctions, lack of twin bins at the commercial establishments, and disposal of the construction debris without permission, are some of the violations listed in the app against which penalties will be imposed.
Just like in case of traffic violations, the violators will be issued online challans and payments will be received online too. Photos of the violation along with GPS coordinates will be captured and SMSes will be sent to the violators about the challan, a statement informed.
The system will be experimented with in pilot mode, after which it will be extended to the whole city, the statement said.
