A total of 3,000 police personnel in T.N. to receive CM’s Constabulary Medals this year

A total of 3,000 police personnel, in the rank of grade-II constables, grade-I constables, head constables, and special sub-inspectors of police are set to receive the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Constabulary Medals this year.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s medals are announced in recognition of the outstanding devotion to duty displayed by personnel of the Police, Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services (TNFRS) and Prisons and Correctional Services Departments. They are awarded on the occasion of Pongal every year.

A total of 120 TNFRS personnel in the rank of leading firemen, driver mechanic, firemen driver (upgraded driver mechanic), and fireman (upgraded leading fireman) and 60 Prisons and Correctional Services personnel are also set to receive the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Medals this year.

Besides, six personnel — two each from the police radio branch, dog squad, and police photographers — will receive the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Technical and Specialised Services.

The monthly medal allowance of ₹400 would be sanctioned to the recipients with effect from February 1 irrespective of their ranks, an official release said.

Anbumani wants age relaxation in recruitment of sub inspectors

PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss criticised the State government and the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board for the delay in posting the recruitment notification for sub-inspectors of police.

Due to the delay, several hundred youth have become ineligible to qualify for recruitment, Dr. Anbumani said, and urged the government to reduce the age limit for sub-inspector recruitment by three years.
