The release of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s fantasy-drama, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam has been postponed, the makers announced on Thursday (December 4, 2025) evening. The film was earlier scheduled to hit the screens on December 5. The makers are yet to announce a new release date for the film.
The film’s production house, 14 Reels Plus, took to social media to issue a statement which read, “With a heavy heart, we regret to inform you that #Akhanda2 will not be releasing as scheduled due to unavoidable circumstances. This is a painful moment for us, and we truly understand the disappointment it brings to every fan and movie lover awaiting the film.”
They added, “We are working tirelessly to resolve the matter at the earliest. Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. Your support means the world to us. We promise to share a positive update very soon.”
The film’s release was postponed after the Madras High Court ordered to put a stay on its screening following an appeal filed by Eros International Media Limited.
A sequel to the 2021 fantasy-actioner, Akhanda 2 has been directed by Boyapati Srinu and also stars Samyuktha, Aadhi Pinishetty and Harshaali Malhotra in pivotal roles.
