Anantapur police dog Dolly retires


Anantapur police gave a farewell to police dog Dolly, which retired on Saturday, after serving the department for 11 years. Superintendent of Police (SP) P. Jagadeesh felicitated Dolly at a function held in Police Conference Hall, here on Saturday.

Dolly was handed over to the Anantapur district police at an age of six and played a key role in solving cases, including murders, thefts and robberies. According to the police, Dolly visited 300 crime spots and helped the police solve at least 30 important cases. Dolly was garlanded and felicitated with a shawl, while its handler Nagabhushanam was presented a memento.
