Aamir Khan and Salman Khan are back as Amar and Prem asAndaz Apna Apna returns to Indian screens. The beloved cult comedy from 1994, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, is re-releasing in Indian cinemas on April 25. The film has been digitally restored to 4K with Dolby 5.1 surround sound.
A re-release trailer for Andaz Apna Apna was shared by the makers on Monday (April 7). It features several iconic moments from the rollicking comedy, from Aamir exclaiming, “Haila, Juhi Chawla!” to Shakti Kapoor in a supervillain cape jumping folks as Crime Master Gogo.
Primarily a comedy of errors, the film centres on two chancers, Amar and Prem, as they attempt to woo and marry a rich heiress.
“Amar Prem Ka Andaaz is back… #AndazApnaApna Re-releasing In Cinemas on 25th April 2025 Nationwide,” Salman wrote on X, sharing the new trailer.
The 1994 film enjoys an iconic status in popular Hindi cinema. Though not a major success upon release, the film grew a substantial fandom over the years, banking on its quirky cast of characters and slapstick brilliance. Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Viju Khote and Shehzad Khan rounded out the cast, while Govinda and Juhi Chawla — both prominent actors in the 1990s — made cheery cameos.
Multiplex chain Cinepolis is distributing the restored version of Andaz Apna Apna. A sequel, meanwhile, was recently confirmed by both Aamir and Salman.
