‘Back To Plastic Straws’ Elon Musk Backs Donald Trump’s Paper Straw Ban; Internet Says Go Live In Mars
In 2024, the former president of the USA, Joe Biden, announced that single-use plastic will be phased out of the federal government’s food service operations by 2027 and from other federal operations by 2035. Not a fan of any policy that concerns the goodwill of the environment, the real estate tycoon president Donald Trump took to Truth Social and stated that the “ridiculous Biden push for paper straws” will be ending with his upcoming executive order next week. Per shri shri Trump, the more eco-friendly paper straws don’t work.
During his presidential campaign, Trump’s team sold plastic straws with the slogan “liberal paper straws don’t work.” Meanwhile, reacting to Trump’s paper straw ban, Elon Musk tweeted, “Greatest President Ever.“

Reactions poured in, with users slamming both Trump and Musk over the ‘Bring Back Plastic Straw’ mandate. “Way to set priorities as commoners can’t afford groceries and the insulin prices are shooting up!” wrote one, while another wrote, “All I see is billionaires winning while the rest of us struggle.” One meme portrayed the US President’s monumental picture of getting shot at during the presidential campaign rally in September 2024, but with his hands clutching (plastic) straws.
