Bhumi puja performed for vegetable market at Parumanchala

NABARD Assistant General Manager K.R. Karthik Dorai on Thursday participated in the bhumi puja of the newly-sanctioned ‘Rural Haat’ (vegetable market) at Parumanchala.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dorai said that the construction of the vegetable market will bring to an end the hardships faced by local farmers. He said that farmers were forced to sell vegetables on the roadside for years and used to face problems during rainy and summer seasons. He assured that the new market will put an end to their difficulties.

The project was sanctioned by NABARD and will be constructed by the Gram Panchayat. The construction of the market was initially proposed by village sarpanch M. Prakasam. The timely submission of documents helped secure the quick approval.
