Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy derided the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) stating it had turned into ‘BRSS’, acting like an affiliate of the RSS.

Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Mr. Reddy said Congress doesn’t need to learn lessons on democratic values in politics from the BRS that had ruled as per the whims and fancies of individuals. The BRS is repeating in Telangana what the BJP says against the Congress at the national level. There is a system in Telangana and the police acts accordingly, he said rejecting the allegations of the BRS that people who questioned Congress ‘failures’ were being arrested.

“Unlike the BRS government we are not using the police to target the opposition parties,” he said.

Mr. Reddy, who is in New Delhi to attend the inauguration of the All India Congress Committee’s (AICC) new headquarters, sought action against RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for saying that India gained real freedom only when the Ram temple was built last year.

He said the RSS, which never participated in the freedom struggle, does not understand the sacrifices made for freedom from the British, and wanted to know whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi approves the RSS stand on freedom.
