Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Chairman Ramesh Bandisidde Gowda has called upon everyone to join hands with the government’s efforts to preserve and promote Kannada language.

Speaking at the Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrations held at the CESC head office in Vijayanagar 2nd Stage on Saturday, he said Karnataka is a land of penance and being born here is a blessing.

He expressed concern that if we restrict the use of Kannada, which is our mother tongue, to our homes and fail to implement it in government offices, we risk forgetting it and shifting towards English.

“We are neglecting its use in our daily work though we take pride in Kannada. While learning other languages is important to gain global knowledge, we must never forget our mother tongue,” he felt.

CESC Managing Director K.M. Munigopal Raju said every workplace comes with both challenges and opportunities. “If we work together as a team, we can achieve effective results.”

The CESC’s projects and functioning have become exemplary when compared to other power supply corporations, he said.

He informed that the CESC has initiated several reforms and obtained 32 CA sites to build our own offices. The construction work is already under way, he said.

Earlier, the CESC Chairman, the MD, and other officials offered floral tributes to the portrait of Goddess Bhuvaneshwari.

Chief Financial Officer G. Renuka, Chief General Manager (Technical) Sharanamma S. Jangin, Chief General Manager (Internal Audit) Lingarajamma, General Manager (HR and Administration) B.R. Roopa, Superintendent of Police (Jagrit Dal) Savita Hoogar, General Manager (Procurement) L. Lokesh, General Manager (IT & MIS) Ramaswamy, and several other officers were present.
