Chennaiyin FC (CFC) on Saturday announced the appointment of former India coach Clifford Rayes Miranda as its head coach for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season.

Miranda replaces Owen Coyle, with whom the club parted ways earlier this year after finishing 11th in the table, collecting just 27 points from 24 matches.

An AFC Pro Licence holder, Miranda has previously served as assistant coach with FC Goa, Odisha FC, and Mohun Bagan SG. During his tenure, he has been part of multiple successful campaigns, including ISL League Winners’ Shield triumphs with both FC Goa and Mohun Bagan SG.

He also guided Odisha FC to the 2023 Super Cup title, becoming the first Indian coach to win a major trophy with an ISL club.
