For college student Abir, cosplaying as Wind Master from Heaven Official’s Blessing, reading comics was a solace. “Since my dad had a transferable job, we moved around, and I did not have constant friends. That is when I turned to comics as an escape and something that made me happy. When you come to an event like this, you realise how open the community is. You get to meet many like-minded people.”
“I love the ingenious ways people come up with to design their costumes,” said Snehal who was dressed as He Xuan from Heaven Official’s Blessing.
Dressed as Raven from Teen Titans, Trina agrees that putting together a costume is quite an arduous task. “There are so many elements in my outfit that I ended up borrowing from my friends to put it all together. With the makeup, it took me an hour to get ready for the event.”
