Court penalises parent as two-wheeler rode by minor boy involved in accident
The Additional Civil Judge and JMFC court in Bantwal has imposed a penalty of ₹32,000 on a parent who was found guilty of permitting his minor son to ride his motorcycle that was involved in an accident.
The magistrate imposed a penalty of ₹25,000 on Mohammed Anis for the offence under Section 199 (A)(1) (offence committed by juvenile) of the Indian Motor Vehicles (IMV) Act.
A fine of ₹5,000 for the offence under Rule 115 of Central Motor Vehicle Rules, read with Section 190 (2), of IMV Act. He was also asked to pay a penalty of ₹2,000 for the offence under section 146 (Necessity for insurance against third party risks), read with Section 196 of IMV Act.
The order was passed by the magistrate on September 26, after Anis pleaded guilty of charges framed by the police against him.
