Double-engine government ensures security, dignity, self-reliance of tribal communities, says Uttar Pradesh CM

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday (November 15, 2025), in Sonbhadra, reaffirmed commitment to ensuring security, dignity, and self-reliance for tribal communities, adding that tribal communities are key partners in progress. Mr. Adityanath spoke at the Tribal Pride Day event highlighting various schemes for the community.

“The NDA’s double-engine government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is driving development, good governance, and empowerment, making tribal communities’ key partners in mainstream progress. Our government is committed to ensuring security, dignity, and self-reliance for tribal communities. We have taken pledge to link tribal pride with development,” said Mr. Adityanath, speaking at a Tribal Pride Day event in Sonbhadra.

Mr. Adityanath highlighted Birsa Munda’s immortal call, “Abua Desh, Abua Raj,” noting that its spirit of “Nation First” resonates strongly in today’s India. “Inspired by Birsa Munda’s ideals, the tribal community of Sonbhadra and across Uttar Pradesh will actively contribute to national unity, security, and prosperity while taking the lead in developmental initiatives,” said the U.P. CM, recalling Birsa Munda’s 19th-century struggle against British rule, adding it become a turning point in safeguarding tribal rights.

The CM described Sonbhadra as Uttar Pradesh’s energy capital and a land of rich natural and historical heritage. “The strong representation of tribal citizens at the event is a symbol of hope and aspiration,” said Mr. Adityanath, announcing development projects worth ₹548 crore to boost connectivity and infrastructure in the district.

Speaking about steps taken by his government for preserving tribal pride, the U.P. CM highlighted the establishment of a tribal museum and hostel in Imlia Koder, Balrampur. “Tribal Pride Museum will soon be set up in this commissionerate to showcase tribal art, folk instruments, lifestyle, and traditions, inspiring future generations,” said Mr. Adityanath.

He called the year as historic one for India as it marks 150 years since the birth of both Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Bhagwan Birsa Munda. “Birsa Munda, at just 25 years of age, sacrificed his life for the nation with the slogan ‘Apna Desh, Apna Raj’ (Our country, our rule), inspiring generations to fight for self-governance,” added Mr. Adityanath.
