Draft electoral roll prepared as part of SIR to be published on December 16

The draft electoral roll prepared as part of the Special Intensive Revision in Puducherry will be published on December 16, Chief Electoral Officer P. Jawahar said on Saturday.

In a press release, the CEO said the process to collect the enumeration forms was nearing completion. The draft roll published on December 16 will contain names of all those electors who have submitted the signed forms. Some forms could not be collected from electors despite repeated visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) due to various reasons such as absence, shifting, deletion and duplicate entries.

To enhance public confidence and facilitate inclusion, Electoral Registration Officers have shared the tentative part-wise list of forms that could not be collected with the representatives of recognised political parties. The lists were handed over in hard copies and the meetings with political party representatives were entered in the minutes, the release said.

In the next three-days, the Booth Level Agents (BLAs) of political parties will also receive updated part-wise lists from BLOs. The process will help BLAs to verify forms that were not collected and assist electors wherever required to submit the enumeration forms to the BLOs. The enumeration forms could be submitted till December 11, the release said.
