Exhibition showcasing products made by women SHGs begins in Erode

A two-week exhibition and sale of products made by women self-help groups (SHGs) took off in Erode on Friday.

Organised under Mahalir Thittam, the event features a wide range of items, including cotton and silk sarees, handicrafts, Bhavani jamakkalam, Chennimalai bedsheets, handloom products, readymade garments, footwear, designer sandals, cotton and jute bags, bamboo and palm-leaf products, millets and millet-based foods, honey, naturally grown fruits, clay items, turmeric, and jaggery. Organisers said all products are made by women SHGs and are offered at reasonable prices.

The exhibition will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. till December 19. The Collector urged the public to visit the event and support the women entrepreneurs.
