Farmers try to occupy APIIC lands at Mallavalli village in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh

Tension prevailed at Mallavalli village in Krishna district when the farmers tried to occupy the lands of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) on Friday (January 03, 2025).

Farmers demanded that the government allot 100 acres of land, and develop roads and other infrastructure in the village.

Additional police forces were deployed and some 20 farmers were placed under house arrest in Bapulapadu and Nuzvid areas, the police said.

Speaking to The Hindu, Krishna district Superintendent of Police R. Gangadhar Rao said the situation was peaceful in Bapulapadu and Nuzvid mandals.
