The World Cup, which started in 1930 as an invitational tournament, has grown from just 13 teams to 32 and now 48, becoming the biggest competition in international football.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be staged between June 11 and 19 across 16 cities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle (USA); Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey (Mexico), Toronto and Vancouver (Canada).
The final will be played at the New Jersey Stadium on July 19.
