Andhra Pradesh government is ramping up skill development initiatives in coordination with industries, MSMEs, and Society for Employment Generation and Enterprise Development in Andhra Pradesh (SEEDAP) to generate large-scale employment across the State.

20-Point Programme Chairperson Lanka Dinakar, MSME Chairperson Siva Sankara Rao Tammireddy, and SEEDAP Chairperson Deepak Reddy Gunapati addressed the media at the Secretariat on Monday, after review meeting.

Mr. Dinakar highlighted that the coalition government had attracted investments worth around ₹9.3 lakh crore in its first year and was working with the goal of creating 20 lakh jobs in five years.

Emphasising the need for synergy among departments, he said coordination gaps in the past had hindered job creation, which would now be addressed through collaborative efforts. He noted that Andhra Pradesh had over 8 lakh MSMEs. He also observed that the MSMEs have been contributing 30% to India’s GDP.

Mr. Siva Sankara Rao stressed the importance of revamping MSMEs and setting up MSME parks, particularly in backward districts like Alluri Sitharama Raju and Parvathipuram Manyam, to provide skill-based jobs to local youth.

Mr. Deepak Reddy announced plans to train 60,000 youth this year through SEEDAP’s expanding network of training centres and promote entrepreneurship at the grassroots level, aligned with the “Swarnandhra 2047” vision.
