The Annamayya district police on Monday (November 10, 2025) nabbed a gang of five members, listed as most-wanted in the police records, following involvement in over 18 criminal cases, which included murders, robberies, red sanders smuggling, and ganja trafficking across the State and neighbouring Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
The Madanapalle urban police stated that, acting on the directions of Deputy SP (Madanapalle) Mahendra, a special team arrested the gang led by Sultan, along with his accomplices Rabbani, Shadiq, Ashif, and Moula, all residents of Madanapalle mandal.
The police arrested the gang after they were found moving suspiciously at the outskirts of Madanapalle. They were allegedly involved in the murder case of a labourer identified as Sheikh Khadeer, from Kolkata, on August 15 in Angallu village near Madanapalle. The next day, the labourer’s body was found beside the railway track near Chinna Tippa Samudram station.
The police verified the CCTV footage and mobile signals in the vicinity to confirm the gang’s involvement in the murder. Further investigation revealed that their criminal activities were spread across South India. A case has been registered, and further investigation is on.
