UAE and Qatar will meet in the fourth qualifying round for Asian teams in advance of the FIFA World Cup 2026 on Tuesday, October 14 at the Jassim Bin Hammad Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar. Both sides will be looking to secure a place in at the tournament to be held in USA, Mexico, and Canada in 2026 with a victory.
Their qualifying group contains the two sides along with Oman. UAE is currently on top with three points, having defeated Oman 2-1 in the pair’s meeting on October 11. Qatar occupies second position with a single point, having drawn 0-0 with the same side.
Oman currently lies bottom of the group, having managed just a single point from both of its games.
These results mean that the equation for both sides heading in Tuesday night’s game is relatively simple. UAE simply needs to avoid defeat, with a win or a draw enough to take it through to the World Cup, while a win is necessary for Qatar to advance. A draw would see Qatar move into the fifth qualifying round in second place.
If Qatar loses, it would finish level on points with Oman, and goal difference would be used to determine which side moves into the fifth round.
