Hyderabad beats Punjab to win Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2025-26 title

Alankrith Rapole’s composed fifty helped Hyderabad beat Punjab by five wickets to lift the Vinoo Mankad Trophy Elite title at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on Saturday.

Chasing 112, wicketkeeper Rapole shared an 86-run sixth-wicket stand with Aawez Ahmed to guide Hyderabad over the line in the Under-19 One-Day cricket tournament final.

Punjab’s Ishan Sood took a spectacular five-for, removing the top-order for just seven runs and two more batters for ducks before Rapole and Aawez took control.

Earlier, Hyderabad’s bowling unit struck at regular intervals to deny Punjab any opportunity of putting together a respectable total.

The top-scorers, Vihaan (28) and skipper Aryan Yadav (29), were dismissed by V Yashveer, who went on to pick a three-for while three other bowlers finished with two apiece.
