Indian duo Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma entered the top three of the Men’s T20I batter rankings after the players’ performances in the home series against England, as per an ICC press release on Wednesday.

On-song spinner Varun Chakravarthy, who was recently included in the Indian squad for the upcoming ODI sereis against the English, also moved up amongst the bowlers in the shortest format.

Abhishek leapfrogged a massive 38 places to sit in second place – behind Australia’s Travis Head – after his record-breaking century during the fifth T20I match against England in Mumbai. Compatriot Tilak sits in third in the latest rankings.

India skipper Suryakumar Yadav is fifth, while teammates Hardik Pandya (up five rungs to equal 51st) and Shivam Dube (up 38 spots to 58th) also made big moves up the rankings

Varun’s 14 wickets against the English helped the tweaker move up three places to share the second spot on the rankings with England’s Adil Rashid. Teammate Ravi Bishnoi also saw movement up the ladder as he sits in sixth.
