IND vs ENG, 4th Test: Ben Stokes becomes 3rd player to score 7000 runs and pick 200 wickets in Tests
Ben Stokes on Saturday completed 7,000 runs in Test cricket during the fourth day of the fourth Test between England and India at Old Trafford in Manchester.
The England captain is only the third player to record 7,000 runs and 200 wickets in Tests. Only Jacques Kallis and Garfield Sobers had achieved the feat before Stokes.
Kallis of South Africa had 13,288 runs and 292 wickets to his credit. West Indies’ Sobers ended with 8,032 runs and 235 wickets from 93 Tests.
During his innings on Saturday, Stokes also became the fourth England player to score a century and pick a five-wicket haul in the same match in Tests. For England, Stokes is the 13th player to go past 7,000 Test runs.
