Arshdeep Singh became the first Indian bowler to take 100 wickets in T20Is during India’s Asia Cup 2025 clash against Oman on Friday.

The left-arm pacer, who is India’s leading wicket-taker in the format, raised the milestone when he dismissed Vinayak Shukla in the 20th over of the match.

Arshdeep made his debut for India against England at Southampton in 2022, finishing with figures of 2-18.

Prior to Friday’s match, he had taken 99 wickets in 63 T20Is for India at an average of 18.30, with 4-9 against USA his best bowling figures. He became India’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is during India’s T20I series against England in January, dismissing Ben Duckett and Phil Salt in the series opener to seal the record.

However, he had not featured for India at the Asia Cup prior to Friday’s match as India opted to play only one frontline pacer in Jasprit Bumrah.
