Matthew Breetzke heaped praise on South Africa’s deep, power-packed batting unit for the fight it showed in the first two ODIs against India.
“We’ve got a nice balance. A couple of guys are proper batters, and then you’ve got powerhouses like (Dewald) Brevis, (Marco) Jansen and Corbin (Bosch) who can change the game on its head. We complement each other really well and there’s a lot of confidence at the moment,” he remarked.
“It gives you confidence as a top-order batter, knowing that you have Jansen and Bosch at the bottom. We’ve seen Bosch in the last two matches play some really special innings. You can take a little bit more time knowing you’ve got that explosive power at the back end.”

Breetzke also expects a run-fest in Visakhapatnam. “It’ll probably be at par with the last two matches. The wickets have been really good for batting and I’m expecting a lot of runs from both teams.”
Having started his career at the top of the order, the 27-year-old admitted that he is slowly adjusting to the demands of the No. 4 role. “The more I play, hopefully the better I’ll get.”
While acknowledging the role dew has played so far, Breetzke also brushed aside the impact of India’s good record at the ACA-VDCA Stadium on the Proteas’ preparations. “That is pretty irrelevant. We just have to play our best cricket. They’re going to be really hungry to win since it is a must-win game.”
