Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president K. Selvaperunthagai on Saturday (December 6, 2025) reiterated that the INDIA bloc remained strong and said he was not aware of any meeting between All India Professionals Congress chairman Praveen Chakravarty and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay.
“Our national leadership has appointed a five-member seat-sharing committee to hold talks with the DMK, and the committee had its first courtesy-call meeting with DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. Mr. Stalin expressed his happiness and said soon, the DMK will form a committee, and that further talks would be held,” Mr. Selvaperunthagai told reporters in Chennai, after attending an event to mark the death anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of India’s Constitution, on Saturday.
Received no communication’
“I have not received any communication from the national leadership about Praveen Chakravarty meeting Vijay. We are only talking to the DMK. There are attempts to create confusion in the alliance,” he alleged.
When asked whether action would be taken against Mr. Chakravarty, Mr. Selvaperunthagai said the national leadership would make the decision.
