It was Pakistan – and not the United States, despite repeated claims by President Donald Trump – that asked India to stand down during Operation Sindoor, government sources told NDTV Monday after the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs was briefed.
Sources said the committee was told the ceasefire plea came from Islamabad, specifically from Pakistan’s Director-General of Military Operations, who reached out to his counterpart in Delhi.
There was ‘no American intervention during Operation Sindoor’, the committee was told.
