Bhambri-Olivetti pair advances to Hong Kong Open quarterfinal
Yuki Bhambri in partnership with Albano Olivetti of France beat Constantin Frantzen and Hendrik Jebens of Germany 6-3, 5-7, [10-5] in the men’s doubles pre-quarterfinals of the $766,290 ATP tennis tournament in Hong Kong on Monday.

Ramanathan only seeded Indian player in ITF men’s tournament in Indore
Second seed Ramkumar Ramanathan is the sole Indian player to be seeded in a strong field in the $25,000 ITF men’s tennis tournament to be played at the Indore Tennis Club courts from Tuesday.
With four Challenger tournaments scheduled across the country soon, the ITF men’s events to be played in Bhopal and Chennai, after the event here, would serve as a good preparation for all the players who thrive in the Indian conditions.
The 48-player qualifying draw has been a good field for the Indians to fight with eight foreigners for the qualifying slots.

The Junior National Equestrian Championship (JNEC) 2024 concluded on Monday after seven days of thrilling competition in Show Jumping, Dressage, and Tent Pegging at the Army Equestrian Centre in New Delhi.
The final day saw Akshat Vishnoi and Aadit Ghosh of the Army Polo and Riding Centre jointly claim the ‘Best Rider’ trophy in the Children II category.
Meanwhile, the Junior category witnessed a three-way tie with Ahaan Jaisinghani, Ranbir Singh Dhillon, and Arjun Mallaya being named best riders.
Earlier in the championship, Raju Singh and Anupati Navyashree Sai were named joint-best riders in the Young Rider category, while Jaiveer Singh Nagra had earned the honour outright in the Children I division.
Additionally, Bhoowan emerged victorious in Junior Show Jumping Two Phase individual contest, completing the course on his horse Prithi in 27.44 seconds. In the Children II division of the same event, Arshad A, riding his horse Tara, bagged the gold medal in 26.62 seconds, showcasing precision and speed.
Chetak Equestrian Sports Academy dominated the jumping categories, clinching gold medals in both the Junior and Children II Jumping Team events with stellar performances across two rounds of competition. Meanwhile, the Chennai Equitation Centre proved its mettle in the dressage arena, taking top honours in the Junior and Children II Dressage Team events.

Radhya leads in girls’, Aarit, Nidish, Ayaan in boys’ section of National U-9 Chess C’ships
Punjab’s Radhya Malhotra (6.5 points) beat Andhra Pradesh’s Vonti Sri Guruvarshini (5.5 points) to emerge leader in the girls’ section after the seventh round of the National U-9 Open & Girls Chess Championship here on Monday.
In the boys’ section, Aarit Kapil (Delhi), Nidhish Shyamal (Telangana) and Ayaan Phutane (Karnataka) emerged joint leaders with 6.5 points each at the end of the eighth round.
