Karnataka Tourism Society holds destination promotion roadshow in Madurai

Karnataka Tourism Society conducted a Destination Promotion B2B Roadshow in Madurai on Thursday, as part of its Regional Market Expansion Campaign.
The event was organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, the Department of Tourism of Karnataka, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation, Jungle Lodges and Resorts and South India Hotels and Restaurants Association. The roadshow brought together 42 leading stakeholders from Karnataka’s tourism sector, said a press release.
The event saw a turnout of over 120 buyers from Madurai’s travel trade fraternity, including tour operators, travel agents and hospitality leaders. Interactive sessions, destination presentations and promotional video screenings showcased Karnataka’s diverse tourism circuits from the UNESCO World Heritage sites and Heritage towns to wildlife sanctuaries, eco-tourism retreats, pristine beaches and adventure destinations.
President of Karnataka Tourism Society K. Syama Raju said, Karnataka offers an extraordinary year round tourism experience with globally recognised attractions. Through the roadshow, we aim to catalyse domestic inbound travel and strengthen Karnataka’s visibility among travel trade. It is a strategic step to deepen regional partnerships and showcase the State’s unmatched tourism potential.
Vice-President of Karnataka Tourism Society S. Mahalingaiah said the main objective of the roadshow was to get more domestic tourists to Karnataka through travel operators and also showcase the culture of Karnataka.
The Regional Director (South) India tourism D. Venkatesan said with its diverse portfolio of tourism products, Karnataka is rapidly emerging as one of the most dynamic States for both leisure and business travel. Domestic tourism remains the backbone of our tourism economy and initiatives like roadshows are vital to unlocking its full potential.
