Karuthalum Kaithangum adalats to begin in Alappuzha on Friday

Karuthalum Kaithangum, a taluk-level complaint redressal adalat organised by the Kerala government in six taluks of Alappuzha district, will begin on Friday.
The first adalat will be held in Cherthala taluk at St. Michael’s College, Cherthala, from 10 a.m. It will be inaugurated by Fisheries Minister Saji Cherian at 9.30 a.m. Agriculture Minister P. Prasad and Mr. Cherian will directly consider complaints at the adalat.
Adalat in Ambalappuzha taluk will be held at St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Alappuzha, on January 4 followed by the adalat for Kuttanad at M.S. Swaminathan Rice Research Station, Mankombu, on January 6; for Karthikappally at Thamarassery Convention Centre, Cheppad, on January 7; for Chengannur at the auditorium of IHRD Engineering College, Chengannur, on January 13; and for Mavelikara at Bishop Hodges School, Mavelikara, on January 14. The Ministers will consider complaints at all the venues.
New applications
Officials said that out of the 2,616 applications received from six taluks, 2,188 would be considered at the adalats. As many as 678 complaints have been received for consideration at the Cherthala adalat. New applications can also be submitted at the respective venues on the day of the adalats.
Facilities, including reception, inquiry counters, light refreshments, medical services and drinking water, have been arranged at each venue.
