Man arrested for cheating employer of gold

The Halasur Gate Police have arrested a 40-year-old man, for allegedly cheating his employer of gold and was absconding. The accused, Naresh Sharma, hailing from Tamil Nadu, worked as a salesman at a jewellery store in Nagarthpet.
Naresh was arrested from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and recovered 500 grams of gold ornaments and bars worth ₹50 lakh and ₹5 lakh cash from him.
According to the police, the complainant and jewellery store owner Vikram, in his complaint, alleged that the accused had taken gold with the promise of selling it to various jewellery stores in the city for a commission, believing which he gave him gold. However, he neither returned the gold nor the money, the complaint said.
In another case, the Jayanagar police cracked a recent chain snatching case where a man on a bike snatched a 41-gram gold chain from a woman in Shakambari Nagar, Banashankari, on January 26 and arrested the culprit from Niramanahalli village, Bidar district.
He had pawned the gold chain he had snatched at a private gold loan firm. His mother got it back and handed it over to the police, a statement from Jayanagar police said.
