Man kills 78-year-old mother over property dispute in Hubballi
The accused was reportedly unhappy with his mother for giving away her jewellery to her daughters.

A 60-year old man who brutally murdered his aged mother over a property dispute has been arrested by the Vidyanagar Station Police in Hubballi.
On November 6, Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar told press persons that the accused, Ashok Mulakhod (60), was reportedly unhappy with his mother Ningavva Mulakhod (78), a resident of Brahmagiri Colony, for giving away her jewellery to her daughters.
The elderly lady had a small residential plot in her name. Ashok was pressuring her to transfer the plot to him. However, his mother was reluctant to do so. Ashok assaulted his mother with a wooden plank which had a nail in it, he said.
Initially, the police had taken the husband and son of the deceased woman into custody for questioning and, subsequently, arrested the son. The accused is a former employee of the Hubballi Dharwad Municipal Corporation.
