The makers of Mandaadi, actor Soori’s upcoming film with director Mathimaran Pugazhenthi, unveiled the first-look posters of the film on Saturday (April 19). The film is produced by Elred Kumar’s RS Infotainment banner, with ace director Vetri Maaran as the creative producer.
The first look posters feature Soori as a member of a catamaran racing team, a folk maritime sport that is deeply rooted in Tamil fishing communities.
Mandaadi also stars Sathyaraj, Mahima Nambiar, Achyuth Kumar, Suhas, Ravindra Vijay and Sachana Namidass in pivotal roles. With music scored by GV Prakash Kumar, the upcoming film has cinematography by Kathir SR and editing by Pradeep E Ragav.
The film is one of the two films RS Infotainment has announced; the other is director Vetri Maaran’s upcoming film with superstar Dhanush.
Mandaadi will mark Soori’s sixth outing as a hero. The actor has earned a distinct name and fame, having successfully transitioned from a comedian to a hero, a transition that began with Vetri’s first Viduthalai film in 2022.
PS Vinothraj’s Kottukkaali took Soori to the international arena; the film premiered at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival followed by a screening at the Transilvania International Film Festival. The actor then followed it up with a mass avatar in a commercial actioner, Garudan, co-starring Sasikumar and Unni Mukundan.
Last seen in Viduthalai: Part 2, Soori’s next is Maaman, directed by Prashanth Pandiyaraj (of Vilangu fame).
