Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta Superintelligence Poaches Apple’s Top AI Techie; Internet Jibes ‘Too Many Chefs Spoil The Broth’

Mark Zuckerberg is on a poaching spree.
From OpenAI to Anthropic and Google, the Meta’s billionaire boss has left no stone unturned scouting for AI talent. The maverick has now poached no less than 11 top AI engineers, mostly from Sam Altman’s OpenAI, luring them allegedly with a signing bonus of $100 million!
Amid all the cacophony of AI and AGI, Apple remained suspiciously incommunicado with a research paper debunking any significance of current LLM-based AI models. However, despite lagging behind the rival tech giants, the iPhone maker has been stabbing at AI, trying to better its SIRI model, among other endeavors. Seems like, the Tim Cook-led venture has to now go head hunting again as the Zuckerberg express came for its top talent Ruoming Pang.
Reportedly, the lead engineer at Apple’s Foundational Model team has quit the company for Meta with tens of millions of dollars in offerings. Per sources, as stated by Bloomberg, Pang’s departure is just the tip of the iceberg, as several other AI engineers are prospecting to exit Apple.

Meanwhile here’s how the internet is reacting to the entire fiasco. One user quipped, “if zucc poaches all these people and then achieves nothing, that would be hilarious.” Another wrote, “Too many chefs in the kitchen.” A third user echoed the same sentiment writing, “too many cooks spoils the broth.” Yet another user remarked, “Biggest problem Apple has to attract researchers is Apple is secretive which doesn’t allow their researchers to publish research papers or make their innovation public until releasing product. For researchers this is big thing.”
One user commented, “They had a 14 year lead with Siri and have done absolutely nothing since. Sad.” Another noted, “won’t matter, tims doing what satya is doing and waiting until somebody innovates out of this llm trap that we have been in.”
