Minor girl from UP dies in Jammu accident | India News

JAMMU: A five-year girl from Uttar Pradesh died after being hit by a rashly-driven vehicle in the busy Raghunath Bazaar on Sunday when the family was walking through the market on their return journey from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, police said. The driver has been arrested and his vehicle seized.According to police, information was received about a vehicle driven by Kartikay Vaid of Talab Tillo in a “rash and negligent manner” hitting a minor girl around 11:50am.The critically-injured girl from Moradabad district was rushed to nearby SMGS Hospital where doctors declared her dead.A case has been registered under sections 281 (rash or negligent driving on a public way) and 106 (causing hurt or death by negligence) of BNS.
