Railway Protection Force personnel attached to Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd., rescued a 16-year-old girl at Udupi Railway Station on Thursday. The girl had run away from her home in Madhya Pradesh, the officials said.
According to the officials, a proactive intervention at Udupi Railway Station under “Operation Nanhe Farishte“ ensured the safety of the girl hailing from Madhya Pradesh.
During a routine inspection at the station’s portico area, RPF personnel K.C. Sunil and Reminmohan found the girl sitting alone in a suspicious manner. On inquiry, it was revealed that she had run away from home without informing her parents.
After providing counselling and completing all necessary legal formalities, the girl was safely handed over to the Child Help Desk, Udupi, ensuring her well-being and protection.
