Indian pacer Mohit Sharma announced his retirement from all formats of cricket, through a social media post, on Wednesday.
The 37-year-old has represented India in 26 ODIs, including at the 2015 World Cup, taking 31 wickets at an average of 32.90. He also turned out for the side in eight T20Is, bagging six wickets.
Mohit made his international debut for India in 2013, in an ODI against Zimbabwe, after two strong seasons in the Indian domestic circuit with Haryana.
He was also a regular presence in the Indian Premier League, beginning with a successful stint with Chennai Super Kings. Mohit took 20 and 23 wickets, respectively in IPL 2013 and 2024 with his disciplined medium pace.
The right-arm bowler found a second wind with Gujarat Titans. In 2023, he was the joint-second highest wicket-taker in IPL with 27 scalps.
