Narasaraopet MP and TDP floor leader Lavu Sri Krishnadevarayalu on Monday urged South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava to resolve several long-pending railway issues affecting public safety and connectivity in Palnadu district. The MP submitted a detailed representation highlighting critical infrastructure gaps across multiple mandals during a meeting with the GM in Secunderabad.

Mr. Lavu requested the SCR to fast-track tenders and begin work on the sanctioned Railway Overbridges (ROBs) at LC No. 27 in Pedakurapadu, LC No. 40 in Sattenapalli, and LC No. 81 near Tummalacheruvu in Piduguralla mandal. He also sought approval for a new ROB at LC No. 53 in Bellamkonda.

The MP appealed for the relocation of LC Gate No. 294 between Girijavolu and Merikapudi villages by 150 metres to improve safety. He further demanded the construction of a footpath and drainage at the rear side of Macherla railway station and repairs to the damaged approach road from the R&B road to the station.

Mr. Lavu stressed the need to strengthen basic amenities at Gurazala and Rentachintala stations and requested additional coaches for the Macherla-Vijayawada MEMU. He sought new train stoppages at Piduguralla, Pedakurapadu and Perecherla stations for several express services, including the Palnadu Express, Delta Express and Aurangabad-Guntur train.

Highlighting safety concerns of late-night travellers, he urged enhanced security measures across the region. The SCR GM responded positively, assuring due consideration and speedy action on the issues raised.
