A 23-year-old man died and two others were injured after a luxury car hit them near Nelson Mandela Marg in Vasant Kunj in the early hours of Sunday, the police said.

While one of the injured persons has been discharged, the second is undergoing treatment and is said to be critical. All three are employed at a restaurant in Ambience Mall.

The police have registered a case of rash driving and death by negligence against the driver of the car, 29-year-old Shivam, a resident of Karol Bagh.

Mr. Shivam’s wife and elder brother were in the car when the incident took place, but they did not suffer major injuries, said DCP (South West) Amit Goel, adding, “The blood report analysis is yet to come. It will confirm whether the driver was drunk at the time of the incident.”
