Oppo Find X9 Review: The Phone You Buy When You’re Tired of Gimmicks

The Oppo Find X9 is one of those rare flagships that doesn’t feel desperate to impress you. Instead of flashy gimmicks or over-the-top design stunts, it takes a quieter, more confident approach: solid build, clean lines, great display, fast performance, and battery life that politely refuses to quit. At ₹74,999, the Find X9 walks into an extremely competitive arena, but it brings enough maturity and refinement to stand its ground.

Pick it up, and the first thing you notice is how balanced it feels. The 120Hz AMOLED display doesn’t try to blind you with unnecessary saturation; it aims for clarity and comfort. Yes, it’s still FHD+ and not QHD+ like some rivals offer at this price, but the actual visual experience remains crisp, smooth, and premium. If you watch HDR content or scroll endlessly through social feeds, you’ll enjoy every minute of it.

Performance is one of the Find X9’s strongest traits. The Dimensity 9500 chip delivers consistently fast, fluid responsiveness, whether you’re gaming, multitasking, or editing photos. What’s refreshing is how cool the phone stays even during longer sessions. It feels engineered for everyday reliability rather than benchmark bragging, and that shows in real usage. Paired with UFS 4.1 storage and LPDDR5X RAM, the phone stays quick on its feet.

ColorOS 16 has grown a lot too. It’s smoother, sharper, and feels more polished than older versions. That said, it still has a tendency to throw too many settings, customisations, and visual flourishes at you. If you enjoy menus inside menus, this OS loves you. If you prefer simplicity, you might need a few days to tame it.

Battery life is another area where the Find X9 shines with confidence. The 7,000mAh silicon-carbon cell delivers the kind of endurance most flagship users dream of, easily lasting a full day and then some. Add fast charging, and battery anxiety becomes a non-issue. Oppo doesn’t boast about battery life, it just quietly delivers it.

The camera system continues Oppo’s tradition of shooting high-quality, consistent photos. The triple 50MP setup (with Hasselblad tuning) gives you clean daylight shots, well-controlled colours, and reliable telephoto performance. The ultra-wide maintains surprisingly good consistency with the main lens.

Low-light photography is good but not industry-leading, detail can dip, and noise reduction sometimes gets overenthusiastic, softening textures. This isn’t a dealbreaker, but it’s noticeable if you compare it with the best night-mode phones.

And that brings us to the biggest challenge the Find X9 faces: its competition. At ₹74,999, it’s swimming with sharks, Galaxy S24, Google Pixel 8, OnePlus 12, and even lightly discounted iPhones. Oppo gives you a well-rounded flagship, but the brand has to work harder to convince mainstream Indian buyers that it deserves a spot next to these household names.

Even then, the Find X9 stands out as a phone built for comfort, consistency, and long-term usability. It’s not trying to win a spec-sheet war, it’s trying to win your everyday life. If you want a practical flagship that feels good in the hand, stays cool under pressure, lasts all day, and shoots reliable photos, the Oppo Find X9 is a smart buy.
