The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, mandates the establishment of an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in all government offices, private companies, and branch offices where more than 10 employees work. Each ICC must consist of five members, with a woman officer as the chairperson. Additionally, at least 50% of the members should be women, and one member must have expertise in the Act or be associated with a non-governmental organisation working in this field.

A press release by the district administration stated that organisations that have not yet formed an ICC must do so immediately and submit the details to the District Social Welfare Office. Failure to comply will result in a penalty of ₹50,000 under the provisions of the 2013 Act.

The press release further stated that organisations that have established an ICC must submit an annual report to the District Social Welfare Office by the end of December each year, as directed by District Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar.
