Parvatipuram MLA Bonela Vijaya Chandra on Sunday said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had responded positively to his request for the establishment of food processing units in Parvathipuram-Manyam district. He stated that agro-based industries would boost economic activity and generate local employment.

According to a press release from his office, Mr. Vijaya Chandra met the Chief Minister in Amaravati and submitted a report outlining the potential for setting up new industries and creating job opportunities for tribal communities in Kurupam, Gummalakshmipuram, Parvatipuram, and surrounding areas. He highlighted that local produce such as pineapple, turmeric, tamarind, and cashew could be processed within the region to ensure value addition and enhance the income of tribal farmers.

Later, the MLA also met Minister for Human Resource Development and TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh. He urged him to allocate additional funds to upgrade infrastructure in government schools and colleges across the district.

Mr. Vijaya Chandra expressed confidence that Parvathipuram-Manyam district would witness rapid development, as both Mr. Naidu and Mr. Lokesh were committed to accelerating progress in the region.
