CHANDIGARH: PM Narendra Modi will visit flood-hit Gurdaspur district of Punjab on Sept 9, state BJP announced Sunday. He “will share the sufferings of flood-affected brothers, sisters and farmers by holding a direct meeting with them and would take every possible step for their help”, the party wrote on X. It added Modi’s visit “proves BJP-led Centre always stands by people of Punjab and will assist them in their tough time”.Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan toured areas of Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Kapurthala on Sept 4, voicing concern over the devastation.
