There are many works in English and Hindi literature that tell stories of life seriously mixed with humourous ways. These are not just works that tell jokes. But there are jokes in them. In recent times, a few books have become popular through punchy dialogues.
Veteran journalist Raju Adakalli’s book Harate kashaya, published by Sapna Book House, Bengaluru, is a collection of witty thoughts.
Mr Adakalli is a senior journalist who worked as the media adviser to various ministers for more than a decade. “The book narrates life philosophy with a twist. There is irony, there is sarcasm, there is light humour,” says the author.
The book runs into more than 200 pages, and has cartoons and graphics to go with the humour.
The author, who has travelled to more than a dozen countries, has tapped into the world of current affairs in the course of his writing. “My work is both a joke, and a decoction that awakens the mind,” he says.
