Actor Rashmika Mandanna has come down strongly upon the misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create morphed videos and urged for a “strict and unforgiving” punishment for those who create vulgarity with the technology.
Rashmika took to X on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 and wrote a short note criticising AI. She said, “‘When truth can be manufactured, discernment becomes our greatest defence.’ AI is a force for progress, but its misuse to create vulgarity and target women signals a deep moral decline in certain people. Remember, the internet is no longer a mirror of truth. It is a canvas where anything can be fabricated.”
She added, “Let us rise above misuse and use AI to build a more dignified and progressive society. Choose responsibility over recklessness. If people cannot act like humans, then strict & unforgiving punishment must be served to them.”
The actor also tagged the official handle of Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre at the end of her statement.
Rashmika’s deep fake video had gone viral even two years ago, after which she had to issue a clarification. “We need to address this as a community and with urgency before more of us are affected by such identity theft,” she had written on November 6, 2023 on X.
Rashmika’s recent statement against the misuse of AI comes after similar concerns were raised by other female actors like Keerthy Suresh and Girija Oak Godbole over their morphed images being circulated online.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Rashmika was last seen in the Telugu film, The Girlfriend, which was released in theatres on November 7.
