Residents flag disposal of construction debris in parks and playgrounds

Residents have complained about the dumping of construction debris in parks and playgrounds during the drive conducted on Monday by elected representatives to resolve civic issues in the city.
On the fifth day of the drive, elected representatives, led by CMDA and HR and CE Minister P.K. Sekar Babu, along with Mayor R. Priya, visited ward 76 in areas such as Otteri in Thiru. Vi. Ka. Nagar zone.
The elected representatives also visited Chellappa Mudali Street in Otteri to talk to residents about civic issues in the area. Acting on the residents’ demands, the Minister inspected Patel Park and ordered the officials to remove the construction debris dumped in the park.
Following Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s directions, the drive was launched on Thursday by Mayor R. Priya in the presence of Minister P.K. Sekar Babu to resolve civic issues in 44 wards of east Chennai. The councillors have been asked to visit the streets to resolve the issues.
Other civic issues flagged by the residents include raising the height of pillar boxes, signage for streets and road damages.
Officials of Metrowater and other agencies, and Councillors Tamil Selvi and Sasi Kumar were present.
