The makers of Retro have released the film’s trailer. Starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde, the Tamil movie is directed by Karthik Subbaraj.

The film is bankrolled by Jyotika and Suriya under the banner 2D Entertainment. The highly-anticipated movie is set to release on May 1, 2025.

The trailer shows Suriya as someone who is trying to control his violent side but circumstances force him to get into dangerous brawls. The action-packed visuals show the Tamil superstar in different avatars. He is seen training a martial art, apart from being the lover of Pooja Hegde’s character. Retro also seems to have a track where Suriya’s character is jailed for a crime. The film promises to be a blend of comedy, romance and crime.

The ensemble film features Joju George, Jayaram, Nasser, and Karunakaran in prominent roles. Karthik’s regular collaborator Santosh Narayanan is the music composer for the movie. The trailer cut was executed by Premam filmmaker Alphonse Puthren, who had previously cut the trailer of Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Super Deluxe.
